Kingfisher conducted a Spiritual Formation retraite for leaders in Chingola, Zambia in November. Participants who excelled in the online courses were invited to a 6 day event with Johann and Annalena Theron. Representatives from Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique attended. We were struck by the passion and desire to grow in intimacy with God.
We reflected on the invitation to :
- Live firsthand with Jesus in His Kingdom – before you die!
- Discipleship as a practical lifestyle as apprentices of Jesus – to learn from Him how to live our everyday, ordinary lives under His authority and in His presence.

We spent time on the nature of the spiritual disciplines and left the retraite with a personalized plan how to implement them in or daily lives.
Self-knowledge was a major focus. Getting to know yourself better in order to get to know God better. The Spirit revealed patterns we inherited from our biological families of origin, we learned how to disciple our emotions and did introspection on our true and false selves.
Participants left energized to live with Jesus – not only as a Saviour – but especially as a Coach for everyday living.
