Piet and Dekseltjie had to visit Malawi for a next instalment in the series Making Disciples like Jesus, walking step by step through the gospel of Matthew. This time Dirk joined them for an even bigger impact. Brother Macdonald Nkhoma made local arrangements and mobilization.
During the mornings Piet and Dekseltjie met with key leaders from Malawi, Mozambique, and Tanzania – about 20 in total- and covered Matthew 8 to 13 from the viewpoint of a disciple following Jesus, learning from Him and grappling with the issues applying what Jesus said in own context.
During the late afternoons Dirk focused on the principles of New Testament church life, attended by about 80 disciples from Lilongwe, with the topics:
- Rethinking Church
- Upside-down Leadership
- System Upgrade Church
The whole week was challenging but life changing. We look forward seeing the fruit from following Jesus so closely.
